Junior & Teenage Decodable Readers
10 Progressive Junior Levels and 7 Targeted Teen Stages
The Junior Series includes fiction and non-fiction across ten structured levels. Each level introduces and reinforces specific sound–letter relationships through multiple texts, giving beginning and developing readers a clear progression from early decoding towards greater accuracy and fluency.
The Teen Decodables Series includes age-appropriate fiction across seven stages for older students who need targeted phonics practice. Teachers can work through the stages progressively or select individual stages and titles according to each student’s reading ability and the skills they need to practise. Contemporary stories and manga-style visuals keep structured reading practice engaging and appropriate for teen readers.
Booklife and Blastoff Levelled Readers
Additional Early Literacy Support for Balanced Learning
BookLife fiction and non-fiction and Blastoff non-fiction broaden the collection beyond a structured phonics sequence. Organised by overall reading ability, these titles introduce students to a wider range of vocabulary, subjects and text structures. Teachers can use them to extend reading practice, build background knowledge and help students develop the fluency and stamina needed to move towards longer, more varied and increasingly independent reading.
Who Does the Collection Support?
Beginning, Developing and Older Readers
Beginning Readers
Support beginning readers with fiction and non-fiction from the SuperLit Junior Series, organised across ten progressive levels. Each level introduces and reinforces specific sound–letter relationships through multiple texts, helping students apply taught phonics skills in context and move from early decoding towards greater accuracy, fluency and reading confidence.
Students Needing Additional Support
Give students who need additional reading support targeted practice using decodable and levelled titles matched to their current skills. Teachers can select appropriate phonics stages or reading levels, assign books and revisit texts as needed. Optional voiceover and read-along support provide further reinforcement while students develop accuracy, fluency and confidence at a manageable pace.
Teen Readers
Support older students with age-appropriate fiction from the SuperLit Teen Series, organised across seven targeted stages. Unlike the progressive Junior Series, these stages do not need to be completed in order. Teachers can select titles for particular phonics needs, while contemporary stories and manga-style visuals keep structured reading practice relevant to teen readers.
EAL/D Learners
Use decodable and levelled readers to help EAL/D learners connect spoken and written English, practise sound–letter relationships and develop vocabulary through accessible fiction and non-fiction. Teachers can choose texts according to each learner’s language knowledge and reading ability, gradually introducing broader subjects, sentence structures and text types as their confidence grows.
Junior Phonics Sequence & Teen Stages
Progressive Junior Learning, Targeted Teen Practice
The Junior Series follows a ten-level phonics scope and sequence, progressing from early sound–letter relationships to more complex patterns. Each level reinforces its focus skills through multiple fiction and non-fiction texts, helping teachers choose books that align with classroom instruction, targeted intervention or home practice.
The Teen Series uses seven targeted stages rather than a fixed reading order. Each stage groups fiction around particular phonics skills, so teachers can select the most relevant practice for an older student without asking them to begin at Stage 1 or complete every earlier book.
Decodable Readers Teaching Resources
Support for Classroom Teaching and Intervention
Every book in the Junior and Teen Series includes a guided read-along voiceover, with words highlighted as they are narrated. Students can also select any word to hear it sounded out, helping them revisit unfamiliar words, connect sounds with spelling and continue reading more independently.
Each book also includes teaching and practice resources tailored to its series. Junior books provide printable worksheets, colouring activities and interactive games that reinforce the focus phonics skills. Every Teen title includes a Teacher Pack with lesson plans, assessments and activities for classroom teaching, small-group support and targeted literacy intervention.
Assign Books & Track Reading Progress
Match Decodable and Levelled Readers to Each Student
Teachers can organise students into classes or groups and assign Junior Decodables, Teen Decodables or levelled readers according to their current needs. Books can be assigned to individuals, selected groups or a whole class, supporting classroom reading, targeted intervention and independent practice from the same platform.
The Classes area shows which assigned titles have been opened and how much has been read. Teachers can use this activity alongside classroom observations and assessments to follow participation, adjust assignments and decide when a student may need a different book or additional support.
SuperLit Decodable Readers in Print
Use the Same 10-Level Sequence Across Digital and Print
The SuperLit Junior Series is available in print for schools in Australia and New Zealand. Printed fiction and non-fiction books follow the same ten-level scope and sequence as the digital series, helping teachers keep phonics practice consistent across classroom lessons, targeted intervention and take-home reading.
Schools can use the printed books on their own or combine them with digital access through ePlatform. Students can practise with the format that best suits the activity, while teachers continue working within the same program and progression.

Frequently Asked Questions
A Structured, Synthetic Phonics Program
The SuperLit Readers phonics program is a thoughtfully structured and comprehensive decodable readers program designed to help beginning readers develop their ability to decode text using a systematic synthetic phonics approach. It includes engaging fiction and non-fiction titles with beautiful imagery and characters, aiming to guide students from their first steps in reading to becoming confident, independent readers. The program provides a complete toolkit for structured literacy in the early years with phonics resources to accompany each title in the series.
10 Carefully Sequenced Levels of Fiction & Non-Fiction
The SuperLit Readers program covers 10 structured levels, which are carefully aligned to synthetic phonics. Each level systematically introduces specific phoneme-grapheme correspondences (letter-sound relationships) and reinforces them through multiple texts. This clear scope and sequence ensures that children master fundamental skills before progressing to more challenging concepts.
Included with eBook and Audiobook Shared Collections
The SuperLit Readers program is included with any Shared Collection membership (eBooks or Audiobooks) at no additional cost, offering exceptional value to schools. It is also available as a standalone product for schools that may only require the phonics program.
All Resources Are Included
SuperLit Readers includes a full suite of accompanying resources designed to reinforce learning and support teachers. For each book, the program provides pre- and post-reading pages to prepare students and consolidate skills, alongside printable worksheets for quick and effective practice targeting decoding, encoding, and and comprehension. To make practice fun, there are also interactive listening games that reinforce phonics skills with immediate feedback.
Furthermore, every book features voiceover narration and guided read-along where each word is highlighted as it's read aloud, effectively connecting written and spoken language; students can even click on individual words to hear them sounded out phonetically. These resources are designed to make learning simple, effective, and enjoyable, providing teachers with everything needed to reinforce phonics instruction, and the program is also available in print format with access to the same accompanying resources.
