NSW 2022 Challenge Dates:
Challenge opens: Monday 28 February 2022
Challenge closes for student entries: Friday 19 August 2022
Challenge closes for coordinator validations: Friday 2 September 2022
SA 2022 Challenge Dates:
Starts first day of the school year
Reading concludes 9 September 2022
VIC 2022 Challenge Dates:
March - Challenge Commences
2 September: Premiers' Reading Challenge ends
QLD 2022 Key Dates:
6 April 2022 Online database registrations open
9 May 2022 Reading period commences for Prep to Year 9 students*
15 to 26 August 2022 Early childhood participation period
26 August 2022 Reading period finishes for Prep to Year 9 students*
2 September 2022 All reading data must be finalised in the database and Certificate of Participation available for download
October 2022 Certificates of Achievement issued
31 October to 11 November 2022 Premier's Reading Challenge celebration weeks
The reading challenges are well established opportunities for schools to encourage students to read. They have been offered by most Australian States for over 20 years and are run by the respective Departments of Education.
